Monthly Milonga Schedule
Milonga's are dance parties where we socially dance Argentine Tango. Music is in a "tanda" format with 4 tango's grouped together (3 for milonga, 3-4 for vals) followed by a "cortina" a short piece of non-tango music. Traditionally you dance all 4 songs in a tanda with the same partner. During the cortina there is NO dancing and you wait for the next tanda to begin and choose another partner to dance with. You select a partner by using "cabaceo" an eye gesture which is accepted or denied with a glance or nod of the head. 3 types of musical tandas will be played: tango, vals, milonga. The last song of every evening is La Cumparsita.
